List of Services
Organic Tick Control
Ticks are most active in the spring and fall. SafeYard Organic’s treatment programs are based on a regularly maintained lawn.
SafeYard Organics recommends:
First Year: Three times (spring, early summer, fall)
Second Year: Twice (spring and fall)
BrownTail Moth Control
Browntail moth caterpillars have tiny poisonous hairs that can cause skin reactions like poison ivy and other more severe reactions.
Safeyard uses high volume tree spraying, tree injection, or soil injection to control these dangerous caterpillars.
Winter Moth Control
Winter Moths can completely defoliate a tree causing severe stress to a tree.
Organic foliar spray can be applied to the surface of the leaves with a high-powered sprayer. The pesticide has a lethal effect on the caterpillars as soon as its ingested, with no long term residual effect on other insects species.
Woolly Adelgid Control
Monitoring your hemlocks is especially important. A visual inspection of the undersides of branches is the best way to tell if a hemlock is infested. Start with the large hemlocks that are wind breakers as they sometimes are the first to become infected, if in doubt, contact a local tree pest control professional.
Invasive Plant Management
In the Northeast, invasive species have invaded a variety of habitats from grasslands to intact forests. Invasive species threaten our native biodiversity by directly competing with native species. Most yards have at least three invasive plants present, including and not limited to multi-floral rose, Japanese barberry, Japanese knotweed, Asiatic bittersweet, black swallow-wort vine, bejeweled (Mondolian balsam), honeysuckle, and Chinese wisteria.
There are several treatment options to address these yard wreckers.
Organic Mosquito Control
Mosquitos can easily ruin the backyard summer evenings we dream about all winter. SafeYard Organics’ methods eliminate the nuisance without harming our vitally important pollinators or our children and pets.
SafeYard Organics Recommends:
Treatment programs range from one to four applications per season, depending on the property’s location and length of the season.
One-time applications are provided with advance notice for wedding, reunion, and large party venues.
Carpenter Ant Control
Carpenter ants are wood-destroying insects. They do not eat wood; they chew through it and build nests in it. The problem with this pest is that the damage they do is hidden in walls and often remains undetected. Most mature carpenter ant colonies have around 3,000 ants. A licensed pest control professional is your best option to assess the situation and address it safely.
